FAQ - My Instinct 3 flashlight glitches?

Currently on some of my watchfaces, the flashlight on an Instinct 3 will have issues turning on using the double tap method.

A workaround

Open your watch settings, go to System → Hotkeys, and set one of the hotkeys to Torch. When that is set, simply hold the button of your hotkey to enable the flashlight.

This works because it doesn't switch from AOD mode to regular mode when activating the torch.

Why does this happen?

A bug in the Garmin software causes the watchface to go in and out of AOD mode about 10 times in a second when using the double tap method. This causes lag since it will have to fully draw the regular watchface and AOD face, which it is not designed to do.

When will it be fixed?

This depends on Garmin to release a bugfix. They fixed this issue on the Epix not too long ago when it had the same issue, so I hope it won't be too long.
