Presets
Presets allow you to save and quickly switch between different watchface configurations. Instead of manually changing settings every time, you can save your favorite combinations and load them with just a few taps.
What Can You Save?
All watchfaces will save most of your settings. The only thing that is not saved are touch shortcuts, saving touch shortcuts causes confusion when using touch to swap between presets...
Saving a Preset
Method 1: Using Garmin IQ App
- Open the Garmin IQ app on your phone
- Go to "My Devices" and select your watch
- Navigate to "Watch Faces" and select your watchface
- Tap "Settings"
- Configure your watchface settings as desired
- Scroll to the "Presets" section
- Select an empty preset slot (e.g., "Preset 1")
- Tap "Save Current Settings"
Method 2: On Your Watch
- From the watch face, press and hold the watch face
- Navigate to: Menu → Watchface → Customize → Presets
- Select "Save Preset"
- Choose a preset slot
- Your current settings are now saved
Tip: Make sure to configure all your desired settings BEFORE saving the preset. Once saved, the preset will remember those exact settings.

Quick Switch with Touch Shortcuts
For even faster switching, you can set up a touch shortcut to cycle through your presets:
- Go to your watchface settings (IQ app or on-watch)
- Find the "Touch Shortcuts" or "Gestures" section
- Assign one of the touch areas (top, bottom, left, right, or center) to "Switch Preset"
- Save your settings
- Now you can tap that area on the watchface to quickly cycle through your saved presets
Pro Tip: Set up presets for different activities or times of day. For example:
- Preset 1: Daily use with weather and steps
- Preset 2: Workout mode with heart rate and training data
- Preset 3: Minimal mode for battery saving
- Preset 4: Night mode with dim colors
- Preset 5: Work mode with calendar and notifications
Frequently Asked Questions
How many presets can I save?
All watchfaces support 5 presets, but you need the PRO/unlocked version to be able to load presets 3, 4 and 5
Will presets sync between watches?
No, presets are saved locally on each watch. If you use multiple Garmin devices, you'll need to set up presets separately on each one.
What happens if I overwrite a preset?
The old preset data is permanently replaced. Make sure you want to overwrite before saving to an existing preset slot.
