The watchface itself stays free, and it won't lock after a certain time. Only the PRO options can't be used until you unlock them.
You can try PRO data fields. When you pick a field marked [PRO], it works for an hour. After that, it shows PRO instead of its value. To start the hour again, simply select the field again.
